Sasha Sullivan

MSW(Q) Dip Professional Counselling

Sasha is a warm, open-minded, and curious counsellor with 16 years’ experience supporting a wide range of individuals and organisations. Sasha has completed Emotionally Focused Therapy training with Ms Yve Gould and Dr Rowan Burckhardt. She has also been trained in Person-Centred and Solution-Focused Therapies, Positive Psychology, Internal Family Systems, and Somatic therapy. She draws and sometimes integrates these depending on the needs of the clients she is working with.

Sasha looks at issues through a holistic lens. She helps people understand themselves better and address factors in themselves individually, in relation to others and in their environment to find more meaning and contentment in life.

Sasha has supported people with many different challenges including anxiety, depression, burnout, career decisions, major life transitions, relationship challenges and divorce. She has also worked with people wanting to explore alternate lifestyles and relationship choices.

With a background also in organisational and individual mental health training and coaching, Sasha has supported leaders and their teams in navigating organisational change, COVID-19, team challenges, peer support programs and emotional intelligence building. In addition to working from a therapeutic perspective, she has also taken a pragmatist perspective to coaching individuals with the practical and future-planning aspects of their lives. Sasha meets you where you are at and the approach she uses is tailored to you.

Sasha has also studied spiritual and alternative approaches including mindfulness, tantra and non-violent communication. She has always asked big questions about life and the standard way of doing things. As a result, she often works with people at life, relationships or career crossroads, asking themselves what the right next step is for them.

Sasha is a world traveller who has lived on different continents and experienced a variety of cultures and ways of living and relating. She sees life as a playground for learning and has a keen interest in understanding the complexities and nuances of human beings, our inner worlds and the lives we lead. She is also bilingual in German and English and can work with you in either language.

When not at work, Sasha enjoys walking her dog Bonnie at the beach, practising yoga, dance and contact improv, checking out markets, camping with friends and going to festivals around the country.

Sasha looks forward to welcoming you to the Sydney Couples Counselling Centre.
